Mekong Delta at Glance

Leave Ho Chi Minh City behind as you drive about 2.5 hours to the Mekong Delta town of Cai Be, one of the less traveled parts at the center of the agricultural area. Hop on board of a small boat to take a trip around the Cai Be colorful floating market cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. Though it is not nearly as busy and crowded as day’s past, you might still spot locals tossing watermelons or pineapple between their boats! The rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals of the Delta surrounded by thousands of coconut palms to enjoy the peaceful time. After lunch (included) at the local house, we can walk around and enjoy some local fruits at the time we listen to the traditional music. One more thing to do in this trip is biking! Bike and admire village paths to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves. Talk with some of the local farmers and find out how to make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn. Visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay. Hop back on board to explore more of the waterways. Overnight in Can Tho on a bed-and-breakfast basis

Have breakfast (included) at the hotel. Bus takes passengers to Ninh Kieu pier. Embark to a motor-boat to explore the Cai Rang floating market, the most lively and colorful floating market of Mekong Vietnam. Cai Rang is crowded, noisy and amazing with over 500 trading boats. You can buy lots of things there such as fruits, flowers, food or coffee! Later, we go on ashore to visit a vermicelli workshop to learn the process of making. Don’t forget to try crossing over “Monkey Bridge” that will thrill you by only one stem of bamboo. After lunch (included), take a boat trip to visit the floating village of Chau Doc. Come over a floating fish farm to know the way of catfish raising. Continue going to the village of Cham, a place with houses on the high stilts and brocade waving as traditional handicraft work. Finally, visit the Islamic Mosque. Overnight in Chau Doc on a bed-and-breakfast basis

After breakfast (included), check-out from the hotel and feel free to choose one of the following options: Option 1: Return to Ho Chi Minh City by bus. End of trip at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City. / Option 2 : Take a speedboat to Cambodia. Disembark at Sisowath Wharf, Phnom Penh. You must catch the speedboat from 7.30 am. Arrival time: 1.30 pm. End of trip in Phnom Penh Capital.
