Itinerary

Day 1
Budapest - Gödöllo - Eger
Our first stop is Gödöllo where we show you the Baroque Sisi Palace. Driving through the picturesque Mátra Mountains we arrive to Eger. The sightseeing tour includes the visit of the historical monuments as the Minaret, Castle and Cathedral. Optional wine-tasting. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Eger.
Day 2
Eger - Mezokövesd - Kecskemét
After breakfast you visit Mezokövesd, the center of Matyó folk art famous for embroidery. In Kecskemét we will show you the Cifra Palace, Town Hall, Kodály Institute and the Calvinist Church. Dinner at a local Csárda restaurant with gipsy music. Overnight at a hotel in Kecskemét.
Day 3
Kecskemét - Pécs
Pécs was the cultural capital of Europe in 2010. The walking tour in downtown includes the visit of the Mosque (now catholic church), the Cathedral, theTurkish bastion and the old Christian tombs with its wall paintings. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Pécs.
Day 4
Pécs - Keszthely - Tihany - Balatonfüred
Crossing the hills of South-Eastern Hungary we reach Lake Balaton and visit the famous Festetics Palace of Keszthely. Driving along the Lake Balaton we arrive to the Tihany peninsula. After visiting the Abbey, founded in 1055, you may have a boat ride on the Balaton or you can just walk in the village and enjoy the spectacular view to the lake. Dinner and overnight in Balatonfüred.
Day 5
Balatonfüred - Pannonhalma - Budapest
Leaving the area of the Balaton we cross several towns worth for a stop like Veszprém, Zirc, Csesznek. At Pannonhalma we visit the beautifully located Abbey. Heading back to Budapest you have the option to stop at Gyor and visit its downtown.
