Homestay at Mekong Delta – Private Tour

The tour escort will meet you at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, at 8am (the pick-up is only available for hotels located in central Ho Chi Minh: District 1 or District 3). You will depart from Ho Chi Minh City to Cai Be in a private vehicle; on the way, you may enjoy the wonderful landscape (approx. 2.5hr). The Vietnamese adventure will start with the authentic and lively Cai Be floating market in the Mekong Delta. You’ll visit Tân Phong island for biking on village paths to see the local daily life: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses. On the way, you can make some stops to see how they make rice-net for spring-rolls, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage roof and especially see how they wave the dried water-hyacinth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, shoes, etc. Afterwards, the rowboat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy the peaceful time. Around noon, have a taste of the Vietnamese food at Muoi Huong local house (included). Once you enjoyed your lunch, you will be back to the boat to go across one of the longest rivers in the world, the mighty Mekong, to finally arrive in An Bình Island. Upon arrival, proceed with check-in at the homestay. Have a fresh shower and settle in, before cooking some special dishes with the members of a local family, and the other guests staying at the homestay. Wake up to a tasty breakfast at the homestay (included), before checking out and getting ready for the day. Shortly after, at around 8am, join the tour escort for a walk along the village to enjoy the fresh air in the morning and visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice. Here you may taste some sweets with a cup of hot tea (own expense). Afterwards, join the boat trip to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the locals create beautiful potteries from clay. The boat will go along the floating village. You will see how to farm catfish on the Mekong River. At around noon, a quick stop for lunch at a local restaurant (included). Later, you will visit Vinh Long market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take pictures of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables, etc. The cruise will end at Vinh Long city around 10:00 am. Upon arrival, hop on the private transfer back to your hotel at Ho Chi Minh City, with an estimated time of arrival at around 3pm.
