Itinerary

Day 1
Gödöllő, Eger
Early departure from Budapest. Our first stop is Gödöllő, the favorite summer retreat of the Habsburg family. Driving through the amazing Mátra Mountains we arrive to Eger early in the afternoon. It’s famous for its wines and legendary resistance to the invading Turks and Habsburgs.
Day 2
Sárospatak, Tokaj
After breakfast we drive among the castle-spotted hills of Zemplén. Visit Vizsoly's tiny church and see the first Bible translated to Hungarian language. Short visit to the castle of Füzér and Sárospatak. Afternoon arrival to Tokaj, one of the major wine regions of Hungary.
Day 3
Kecskemét, Simontornya
After early morning departure, we drive to Kecskemét. Walking tour of the city:Kodály Institute, Calvinist Church, Old Church, Cifra Palace, Town Hall. We continue by crossing the Danube to Simontornya. Enjoy the wonderful spa facilities of your hotel.
Day 4
Lake Balaton, Zalacsány
Drive to Lake Balaton and take the ferry to Tihany with its Abbey church founded in 1055. Proceed to Herend, home of the world famous porcelain manufactory, visit the museum of the factory. Continue to Veszprém where you will see the Castle district, Gizella Chapel and the Cathedral.
Day 5
Sümeg, Kőszeg, Sopron
Visit the castle of Sümeg and continue to Kőszeg. Walk around Jurisics Square then continue to Sopron, one of Hungary's most beautiful Baroque towns. Arrive for dinner and overnight to the Hotel Next day we drive back to Budapest, you have the option of visiting Győr and Pannonhalma (Abbey).
Day 6
Back to Budapest.
This day we drive back to Budapest, you have the option of visiting Győr and Pannonhalma (Abbey).
