Tarangire National Park, with its abundance of wildlife and the splendid backdrop of massive baobab trees dominating the landscape, is the perfect starting point for this short adventure. Add a full day visiting the Ngorongoro Crater and you have a great road safari that can be combined with any of our à la carte programmes. We have now expanded the options to include a variety of tastes and budgets. This adventure combines three of Tanzania's most popular parks with game viewing in Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Depart Arusha town centre in the
afternoon and drive to Tarangire National Park. The drive takes you across the
Great Rift Valley and along the fringe of the Maasai steppe. You will notice herds of cattle being
attended by young lads and dotted huts with thatched roofs as you proceed. You
arrive at your camp or lodge in the afternoon and have opportunity to soak in
the surroundings and enjoy the facilities. Dinner and overnight at the camp or
lodge.
You set out into Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. Travellers on option B may choose to return to the camp or lodge for lunch (arranged the night before with the driver-guide). Travellers on other options should travel with a picnic lunch to ensure the best opportunities for game viewing. In the late afternoon, you return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.
Depart after an early breakfast and
drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Game drive in the park through the morning
aiming to leave at around noon. Continue to Karatu arriving at your lodge for
late lunch. Optional visit the Iraqw
Cultural Centre (arranged and paid directly with the driver-guide or
lodge). Return to the lodge for dinner
and overnight.
You game view on the floor of the
Ngorongoro Crater. This 102 square mile
paradise was formed by the collapse of an ancient volcano more than twenty-five
million years ago. The resulting rich
fertile soil has produced lush vegetation that has attracted more than 30,000
resident mammals and a delicate balance of predator and prey. There is a good chance of seeing the “Big
Five” of African wildlife during your day of game driving on the crater’s
floor. You travel with a picnic lunch, served near a hippo pool. In the
afternoon, you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Return by road to Arusha arriving in at
around noon to connect with your onward arrangements. End of our services.
